Today is International Women’s Day and, with the theme this year being global gender parity,  it gives me great pleasure to confirm that Dr. Michael Kimmel will be returning to Australia following the success of his 2015 visit to continue the conversation about gender equality in our workplaces. Head of Sociology and Gender Studies at SUNY, and one of the world’s leading experts on men and masculinity, Michael will be joining TalkPoint in Sydney from May 20 to 26.

Michael’s popular 2015 TEDTalk (above) has been viewed over one million times and demonstrates his accessible, often humorous and practical approach to gender equality, alongside his firm belief (backed by evidence) that it’s good for everyone, men included.

While in Sydney, Michael will be collaborating with TalkPoint, and a cohort of organisations from across Australia’s business community, to create a systemic shift towards gender equality in our workplaces. We are calling for representatives from corporate, not-for-profit, government, health, education, sport and the arts to be a part of this exciting collaboration.
